Stick to 2 courses
Rather than going the whole hog and having 3 courses just stick to 2. If you know you want a dessert, skip the starters.
Pick lower carb alternatives
Opt for extra vegetables/salad as opposed to rice or chips. Carbs are usually the easiest calories to consume when eating out. It's very unlikely you will over eat on chicken or steak!
Check the menu beforehand
If you can look up the menu online before eating out, it will allow you to pre plan your meal. You are less likely to over indulge if you already have a plan set.
