Sometimes when I start with a new client I get the impression they assume now they have hired me it’s my job to get them results. I always like to make it very clear the onus is on them to get the results. I am like IKEA. I will give you all the tools to get the job done but ultimately you need to build that body yourself.
I cannot be there to stop people over eating or skipping workouts. Of course I will do my best to adjust the mindset of my clients so they can be in a position to achieve great things but ultimately the client needs to take full responsibility in achieving their goal.
This can also go both ways. If a trainer hasn't completely gained your trust it may be difficult for them to change your mindset towards training etc. And if your mindset isn't ready to get results you will not achieve them no matter how good your trainer may be.
Having a trainer should be a partnership. Both parties heading towards the same goal, you just have to action the plan set by the trainer you trust.
